Kilkhampton Village is a bustling village on the main A39 road from Barnstaple to Wadebridge. Having two convenience stores, a Butchers, post office, Farm shop, several pubs and restaurants as well as takeaways.

Sandymouth beach. A quiet and un-commercialised National Trust beach. Just a National Trust Shop / Tea Shop and a parking attendant! Try your hand at driving a real tank at the military vehicle exhibition, or you may prefer a round of golf, walk the Coastal Path or simply admire the Cornish scenery.

Within 5 miles
Bude is a small country town by the sea. Apart from Morrisons, Co-op, Sainsbury’s and Boots, there are no other national chain shops, so shopping is a real pleasure with a proliferation of small independent retailers, plenty of places to eat and drink, play golf, learn to Surf or simply enjoy the sandy beach. Visit the Tamar Lakes, go fishing or explore the historic town at Stratton, laze on the beaches at Sandymouth, Crooklets and Widemouth Bay.

Head north into Devon and visit Clovelly Village, Westward-Ho!, Bideford, Appledor and Barnstaple. Head East for 8 miles to Holsworthy, a bustling market town (Wednesday is market day) with a golf course Head South to Boscastle Harbour, Tintagel (King Arthur’s Castle), Camelford, Bodmin, Port Isaac (you could get to see Doc Martin!), Padstowe, Newquay, The Eden Project, etc.

Woodland Lodge is nestled in the wooded part of a Country Estate. The manor House was built in the 19th Century and once belonged to the Thynne family, relatives of the current Lord Bath (owner of Longleat House and Safari Park). Now our guests have FREE access to their Entertainment Suite with large sunken dance floor and a stage where a variety of family-oriented Cabaret acts perform nightly during your holiday.

The Big Sheep Fun Park, Abbotsham, Nr Bideford

This all-weather themed attraction is based around sheep, but apart from the live “Sheep Shows” and Sheep Racing, there duck shows, a lamb and pet centre and a massive children’s indoor play area.

A Great attraction, whatever the weather. Apart from the indoor childrens activity and play centre, there are dodgems, rides and a railway. The Falconry centre displays many birds of prey and regularly gives flying displays.
